生产异常是指造成制造部门停工或生产进度延迟的情形，包括计划异常、物料异常、设备异常、品质异常、产品异常、水电异常等等。

品质异常是指在品质方面出现了不合标准或规范不能满足顾客要求的现象。包括产品品质异常和制程异常或系统异常。

生产异常包括品质异常，生产异常的含义范围更大。
