摘要：PURPOSE:To allow the display at the time of generation of a defect in nonlinearelements by dividing the nonlinear elements into respective picture element electrodesto plural pieces and connecting these elements. CONSTITUTION:The nonlinear elementsare divided to plural pieces without changing the ratios of areas of image electrodes 5with the nonlinear elements. A method, etc., for dividing the elements are adequate and2nd conductors 8 are divided into plural pieces and are connected. The respectivejunctures are formed to the sectional shapes similar to the sectional shapes of theconventional junctures. The overlapped parts of the side faces of the 1st conductors 6,insulators 7 and the 2nd conductors 8 in the respective junctures constitute the nonlinearelements (MIM elements). The 2nd conductor 8n is partly cut off and is disconnectedfrom the picture element electrode and a part 5n of the picture element electrode 5 isdisconnected from the remaining picture element electrodes if the nonlinear elementconstituted of the 2nd conductor 8n is defective.
